Brigadier General General Clayton W. Moushon is the Air National Guard Chief of Staff. He is responsible for the command, control and
operations of plans and programs affecting more than 3,000 Illinois Air National Guard personnel at Scott Air Force Base, Peoria, and Springfield, Illinois.
His broad range of responsibilities include ensuring combat readiness and mission capability of three major air bases comprised of flying wings, command and
control facilities, logistics and mission support units, providing combat trained personnel to meet all United States Air Force mission requirements.
General Moushon commissioned through direct appointment as a judge advocate on Sept. 12, 1986 and entered active duty on Jan. 17, 1987. General Moushon has
served in many key positions, including Deputy Staff Judge Advocate of the 182nd Fighter Wing, and as the Staff Judge Advocate at the 183rd Fighter Wing.
General Moushon was the principal adviser and liaison to the Headquarters Air Mobility Command Staff Judge Advocate on Air National Guard legal matters, as
well as a senior representative on The Judge Advocate General’s Air National Guard Council, providing leadership, strategic planning and management of the
entire Air National Guard Judge Advocate program
General Moushon’s professional military education includes Air War College by correspondence in 2004 and the Academic Instructor Course at Maxwell Air Force
Base in 2001. General Moushon earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Loyal University, in Chicago, Illinois, and his Juris Doctorate from
Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
General Moushon’s military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster), Air Force Commendation Medal (1 Bronze

General Moushon is a civilian sole practitioner in East Peoria, Illinois, where he is a transactional attorney specializing in corporate transactions, commercial
real estate transactions and development.
