MTC Live Fire Ranges

The Marseilles Training Center (MTC) is compiled of 9 live fire ranges: Combat Pistol Qualification Course, A Range, B Range, C Range, D Range, E Range, Hand Grenade Range, Live Fire Breach Range, and Range TTP’s. Below is a description of what each range offers and unit requirements.

     
     

Combat Pistol Qualification Course

A Range

  • For use with weapons chambered for pistol caliber ammunition up to 45 caliber
  • 10 pop-up target lanes
  • Requires 1 safety per shooter
  • Night fire is authorized
  • Brass catching mats are available from Range Operations
  • For use with weapons chambered up to 7.62 tracer. Can also use 50 caliber SRTA and shotguns.
  • 8 lanes
  • Requires 1 safety per 4 shooters
  • Night fire is authorized

 

B Range

C Range

  • For use with weapons chambered up to 5.56 tracer. 7.62 tracer can be used by written exception
  • 7 pop-up target lanes
  • Requires 1 safety per 2 shooters
  • Daytime iterations average 15 minutes
  • Night fire is authorized
  • For use with pistols up to 45 caliber, 5.56 weapons, and shotguns
  • 55 lanes
  • Requires 1 safety per 5 shooters
  • Used for zeroing, qualifying on alternate course of fire, NBC fire, night fire, and pistol familiarization
  • Night fire is authorized
     

D Range

 

E Range

  • For use with weapons chambered up to 5.56 tracer.
  • 12 Lanes
  • Requires 1 safety per 5 shooters
  • Used for zeroing, qualifying on alternate course of fire
  • Uses portable target frames
  • Night fire is authorized
 
  • Primary use is grenade launchers with up to 40mm TP ammunition
  • 4 firing points
  • Requires 1 safety per 2 shooters
     

Hand Grenade Range

 

Live Fire Breach Range

  • For use with practice grenades mated with M228 practice fuse
  • 7 points
  • Requires 1 safety per 2 trainees
 
  • For use with dynamic entry training
  • West side of the range is for use with explosives (up to 5 pounds) to breach door ways
  • East side of the range is for use with mechanical/ballistic methods to breach door ways
