Springfield, Illinois – Second Lieutenant Patrick J. Pendergast, of Plainfield, Illinois, received the Illinois National Guard’s Military Medal of Merit during a ceremony, Oct. 23, at Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois.
Pendergast received the award for “outstanding achievement during State Active Duty for his contributions in the success of flood response operations along the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers last summer.”
Pendergast is a platoon leader assigned to the 233rd Military Police Company, Illinois Army National Guard based in Springfield.
