Wartime Mission Statement: The mission of 2-123rd FA BN is to destroy, defeat, or disrupt the enemy with integrated fires to enable maneuver commanders to dominate in unified land operations. The mission of 2123 FSC is to provide direct and habitual logistics support to 2-123rd FA BN.

Domestic Mission Statement: Provide defense support of civilian authorities as directed by The Adjutant General and the Governor of Illinois.
Gules, a chevron azure, fimbriated or between three fleur-de-lis and a lamb couchant of the third.

"Parati et Volentes" (Ready and Willing). The shield is red for Artillery. The blue chevron alludes to the Infantry origin and the ability with which the regiment always obtained its objective. The three fleur-de-lis symbolize the three major engagements in World War I : Lucey Sector (Lorraine), St. Mihiel offensive and Meuse-Argonne offensive. The lamb is taken from the seal of Puerto Rico and signifies service during the Spanish-American War.
Battalion Description: The 2-123rd FA is a 155mm towed artillery battalion consisting of a Headquarters & Headquarters Battery for Mission Command and Support Oversight, 3 Firing Batteries of 4 x M777A2 Howitzers each, and a Forward Support Company for Logistics, Maintenance, and Mess support.
