Retired Command Sergeant Major Starbody Receives Legion Of Merit

SPRINGFIELD – Retired Command Sgt. Maj. John C. Starbody of Decatur is awarded the Legion of Merit by Maj. Gen. Dennis L. Celletti the Acting Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard at Camp Lincoln in Springfield Nov. 13.  Starbody received the award for meritorious conduct, performance and achievements during his 40 years of military service, 38 of those with the Illinois National Guard.  Starbody retired in Nov. 2011.
