Requirements and Eligibility
● Between 18 and 30 years of age
● Good moral character, possess officer like qualities
● Citizen of the United States
● Possess a GPA of at least 2.0 and working towards a baccalaureate degree of the equivalent
● English language aptitude: at least 90 on ECLT and DLI skill rating of 2+ in comprehension and 2 in speaking
● Meet medical fitness standards that apply at time of advanced course enrollment. Must meet AR 600-9 height/weights standards at time of commissioning.
● Must complete prescribed military coursework and field training in accordance with SROTC Regulations. Must complete required advanced camp training
● Meet Army minimum physical fitness standards at commissioning
● Must be recommended for appointment by Professor of Military Science
● Must possess SECRET personnel security clearance prior to appointment
 
09R SMP Program
 
Simultaneous Membership Program is a program that allows enrolled ROTC cadets to also be concurrently enlisted and drilling in the ARNG. It is available to ARNG applicants who meet basic eligibility standards of paragraph 9-14 of AR 601-210 (including MEPS physical standards) who:
1. Meet the criteria for enrollment in MS II, MS III, or MS IV ROTC or will meet criteria within one year of enlistment
2. Are currently contracted and in MS II, MS III, or MS IV ROTC or will meet criteria within one year of enlistment
Once enlisted in ARNG, the soldier is a potential SMP participant until enrolled in Advanced ROTC (junior/senior year)
 
Training Requirements:
 
● Contracted cadets have no requirements and are promoted to E-5
● Non Contractected cadets:
             ● Must attend BCT and become MOSQ within 24 months. No longer required once contracted
             ● Can only receive pay for 36 IDT periods prior to shipping to shipping to BCT or contracting
