FREE COLLEGE TUITION at Illinois State Supported
Schools
You must have one year of
Illinois National Guard time to be eligible.
With the Illinois National Guard grant, you can become eligible to
attend any Illinois state funded university or
Community college of your choice, tuition free for up to 4 years.
The grant can be used for a maximum of 8 semesters (12 quarters) or the
equivalent at any Illinois 2 or 4 year public college for either
full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate study.
To qualify, you must be a current member of the Illinois National Guard;
have completed one full year; and meet all necessary college or
university entrance requirements.

100% Federal Tuition Assistance (Private Schools)
The Army National Guard funds up to 100% of tuition costs and fees, not
to exceed $250 per semester hour and will be limited to $4500 per person
per fiscal year. Tuition Assistance may be used at any accredited public
or private college or vocational school. In addition, it may be used
with the Montgomery GI Bill and Pell Grants.
Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR/ Chapter 1606)
With the MGIB-SR, you will be eligible to receive over $10,000 cash to
help with your education expenses while attending college full-time or
part-time. This money is paid directly to you in monthly increments
while you are attending school.

Montgomery GI Bill "Kicker"
The Montgomery G.I. Bill "Kicker" offers qualifying members in certain
critical units up to $200 per month or $350 per month for officer
candidates and cadets.

$20,000 Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)
The Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) will pay up to $20,000 in
student loans to those who have an existing student loan obligation at
the time of enlistment in the Army National Guard. The Student Loan
Repayment Program will repay 15 percent (not to exceed $3,000 per year)
of the total qualifying loans or $500, whichever is greater. For more
