Army Nurse Corps (ANC)
The Army Nurse Corps provides the
nursing care and services essential to the mission of the Army Medical
Department. Responsible for all facets of nursing relating to the planning,
management, operation, control, coordination and evaluation of all nursing
The Army Nurse Corps consists exclusively of commissioned
officers that are qualified nurses. The Army Nurse Corps plans and provides
professional nursing care of a generalized, specialized and technical nature
in the care and treatment of medical-surgical patients. To practice nursing,
a nurse corps officer must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program,
receive an associate degree in nursing (ADN) program and hold a current,
unrestricted license in nursing.
The Army Nurse Corps specialty, followed by the Military
Occupational Specialty (MOS) code is Nurse, 66H.
Currently there are no Nurse positions available in the
Illinois Army National Guard.
