Illinois Army National Guard Col. Eric Smith, the Commander of the 34th Division Sustainment Brigade, was presented with the "Staff Eagle" for serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (G4) in the Illinois National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters from July 2022 to September 2023. Smith will deploy with his brigade's headquarters later this month. Maj. Gen. Rodney Boyd, the Assistant Adjutant General - Army for the Illinois National Guard and the Commander of the Illinois Army National Guard, presented the Eagle to Smith at the Illinois Army National Guard Commander's Update Brief on January 9 at the Guard's headquarters on Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois.
