Michael Kowalski, Commander of the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Illinois Army National Guard, speaks about Casimir Pulaski at the Polish Museum of America in Chicago on March 8. Col. Kowalski served as member of the United States Army Cavalry. General Casimir Pulaski first fought for Polish independence then joined General George Washington in the American Revolutionary War.
