The Retired Soldier Council is an Army National Guard Chief of Staff-led program designed to provide advice and recommendations regarding vital issues and concerns of retired Soldiers, surviving spouses, and their families. The council seeks to improve communication and support between the ILARNG and its retirees.

The 12-person council will be comprised of retired members of the Illinois Army National Guard that will produce a quarterly newsletter aimed at providing retirees information on ILARNG events as well as updates to retired pay, benefits and any additional information that can be shared.
