SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Don McArthur-Self, a Civil War reenactor with the 8th Illinois Cavalry, talks about equipment Soldiers would use during the Civil War during the First Shot at Gettysburg commemoration July 1 at the DuPage County Historical Museum. The first shot fired at Gettysburg was fired by Lt. Marcellus Jones, 8th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, which was formed in DuPage County in 1861.
