SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Maj. Gen. Rodney Boyd, The Adjutant General of Illinois, and Commander of the Illinois National Guard, addresses family and friends of the approximately 65 Soldiers from the Chicago-based Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment during the unit’s mobilization ceremony June 6 at Carver Military Academy in Chicago. The unit is part of a 550-Soldier Illinois Army National Guard deployment to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
