Chicago, Ill. - JROTC Students compete in the drill competition at Carver Military Academy in Chicago. Illinois Army National Guard recruiters volunteered as judges for the Chicago Public Schools Department of JROTC Drill Competition on Saturday, Dec. 14. The Division 1 competition was hosted by Carver Military Academy in Riverdale and Division 2 was hosted by Chicago Vocational Career Academy in Avalon Park, both on Chicago’s South Side. JROTC high school students competed in military drill and ceremony, which takes practice, discipline, and commitment to master. The Illinois Army National Guard recruiters were joined by ROTC cadets from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois Air National Guard recruiters as well as active Army and Marine Corps recruiters.
